Project Manager, Tampere University

Jyrki Latokartano is the project manager of TRINITY DIH from Tampere University, Finland. Besides project coordination he is working as a lecturer at Tampere University. He has been focusing on industrial robotics and robot safety for over 20 year both at the university and in several associations, giving him a good knowledge of the industrial manufacturing scene too. He is the chairman of the Robotics Society in Finland and the vice chair of the International Alliance of Robotics Associations.

Ulrich Seldeslachts is executive director of, a not-for-profit industry association focused on Cyber Security and Data Protection in Europe, based in Belgium and with operations in the Netherlands, UK and Germany. LSEC is a cyber security catalyst, bringing together enterprise and government users, with industrial ICT Security expertise and academic experts and researchers. As a spinoff of KU Leuven university, LSEC is a thought leader on Cyber Security since 2002. Through LSEC he runs, a transformation platform to digitize manufacturing with IoT and Industrial Internet, and is within the European Connected Factory responsible for the Cyber Security and Privacy challenges for advanced manufacturing platforms.

Robotics Researcher, Flanders Make

Asad Tirmizi obtained a Masters in Controls from Sweden in 2012 and a PhD in Haptics from Italy in 2016. His doctoral thesis focused on giving the sense of touch to robots so they can operate more intelligently. It won the Best PhD award from Italian Society of Engineers (SIDRA) in 2016. He went on to join Flanders Make, a Belgian strategic research institute for manufacturing. He serves there today as a Researcher and a Project leader. In 2019, he was selected as one of “EU’s Next Generation Explorers” to collaborate with US on robotic technologies. His current research interests are on Human-Robot Collaboration, Real-time reactive control of robots, Haptics and Multi-robot operations.

Aleš Ude received the diploma degree in applied mathematics from the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, and the Dr.-Eng. degree from the University of Karlsruhe, Germany, in 1990 and 1995, respectively. After completing his PhD, he worked as a postdoc and invited researcher at ATR Computational Neuroscience Laboratories in Kyoto, Japan. Currently is the Head of the Department of Automatics, Biocybernetics, and Robotics at Jožef Stefan Institute in Ljubljana, Slovenia. His research interests include robot learning and adaptation, reconfigurable robotic systems, and humanoid robotics. He has been working towards transferring of new robot technologies to industrial application for many years, among others as the coordinator of two H2020 projects, ReconCell and ReconCycle.

Fabrizio is a leading expert of Open Innovation and the application of disruptive technologies such as AI, IoT and DLT to industry 4 settings. He currently acts as board member in several start-ups and is a qualified  Innovation Manager  and Reviewer for both EU RD frameworks and the Italian Ministry of Economical Development (MISE) . Today Fabrizio is CEO of MYWAI™ (  Europe’s first Edge Intelligence platform  for prognostic equipment management, launching version 1.0  at EMO (Pavilion 7,  booth nr G51).
